20-26 May 2010. Spain, Barcelona. International Construction Forum

In the period from 20 to 26 May 2010 was conducted the regular session of the International Construction Forum. This time it was held in Spain. Within the bounds of the Program heads of construction companies visited Barcelona, Valencia, Sitges.

Acquaintance with Spain started from the contemporary and avant-garde architecture of Barcelona – Gaudi Museum. In the Museum representatives of the delegation were supplied with professional escort and translation into Russian. After that Russian delegation, accompanied by architect Mr. Jordi Puig visited several construction sites of the city and Catalonia Chamber of Commerce.

In Catalonia Chamber of Commerce spirit of solemnity and high-society grandeur reigned. In Barcelona each self-respecting businessman is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a special attention is given to construction business and thus Russian constructors were received with great respect. During the negotiations and double-sided meetings Spanish party was represented by the Director for Economic Development Mr. Lluis Lluck and Director for analysis and estimation of the Catalonia constructors official chamber Mr. Josep’Manel Marí Serra. Spanish colleagues showed construction sites of contemporary cottages that practically served as an evidence to projects – they worked quickly and effectively. At the request of business meetings participants, paper materials with projects and plans of the objects like the unique building PACHA for the purpose of future collaboration with Spanish organizations, were sent to the delegates of the Forum.

Visit to Valencia started from the Technological park that was rightfully named “Construction mecca of Europe”. At the meeting with the Russian delegates head of the management company Entidad de Conservación Valéncia Parc Tecnológic presented the history of creation, planning of the territory of the Park and its functioning, carried out a visitation to the Park facilities. Nowadays the technological park includes more than 400 different companies. Government and Administration of the Organization are entrusted mainly to two controlling organs: General Assembly and Board of Governors.

In Sitges Mr. Tomás Gracia - President of the association El Gremi de Constructors del Garraf, member of the Board of Governors of Catalonia Construction Association, holder of the Special Prize ADEG 2009 "Premi Especial Mútua Penedès" (security of construction), presented the program of possible ways of collaboration in the sphere of construction and creation of mutual projects.

In terms of overcoming the world financial crisis in the Association of Contractors of Catalonia passed a considerable modernization for supporting the activity of construction companies of the region. The special innovative group was created, it determined contractors for the main areas: construction, architecture and designing, construction of service lines, roofing, landscape construction. In each group of contractors was distributed information about the most prospective technologies that enabled to ensure the optimal price-quality-term rate of execution phase.

Separately was considered the project “Residence – medical center for aged people” (de luxe class). In conclusion of the Forum the Russian delegation noted the high level of organizing business meetings and bilateral negotiations.
